About Machine Knives Australia
MKA (Machine Knives Aust Pty Ltd) is a Melbourne-based Australian manufacturer of Blades, Sealing Jaws & Machine Spares. Starting in 1986, we began making serrated blades, which then grew into other types of blades and sealing parts and then progressed into making machine spares for many industries.
Our Background
We began by borrowing time on a couple of machines and now have over 90 on the floor, including the latest in 3, 4 and 5 axis CNC Milling, CNC Turning, various CNC Grinding Machines, Water Jet Cutting and CNC Wire cutting, plus some CNC retrofit machines we have developed. In this time, we have gone from servicing a couple of small local companies to selling knives and machine spares all over Australia as well as many parts of the world, and we are proud to say this company has grown every year for over 33 years.
What We Do
MKA manufactures and reconditions many blades & parts locally, brings in blanks, carries some pre-hardened steels, and, at times, completed spares. This gives us the ability to compete with basically anyone but also, more importantly, gives us the ability to offer a quick turnaround of many parts when needed. This ability to assist people when they are in need is critical to our company and what we have to offer our customers. If the OEM supplier or other suppliers do not have spares in stock when you need them urgently, this is where MKA comes into their own, as we regularly assist people to get their production up and running when others cannot help. This is with both machine blades plus machine spares.
Our Company
With a staff of around 20, we are proud and lucky to have people with varying experiences in many fields of tool making and fitting, and these experiences give us knowledge that is not easily found. These people and their experiences come from Australia, but we also have people from other parts of the world adding their invaluable know-how to our workforce. This, in many ways, is why we can assist in blades and parts for so many diverse industries.

MKA carries a stock of steels imported from countries such as Japan, Austria, Sweden and the U.K. that no others carry in this region. This gives us many advantages and the ability to assist our customers when in need.
Our products have been sold to many countries over the years, including the UK, Europe, Asia, USA, New Zealand, China, Fiji, Saudi Arabia and PNG.
